fret not my soon-to-be-drinking-buddy...
i have a cunning plan!
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 20:23, Reply)
Is it so cunning
you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel?
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 20:24, Reply)
oh faaaaaaar more cunning than that.
a plan sooooooooooo cunning that other plans go home and cry in despair.
a plan sooooooooooo cunning that if it were any more cunning, even a tiny weeny bit, it would be capable of resolving the credit-crunch. whilst asleep. on holiday. in a foreign country. after getting pissed on Grappa.

Ooh blimey.
You've only got four and a bit hours to execute all this, remember.

I book on at 11.00 on Saturday for yet another trip to the fleshpots of Blackpool.
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 20:36, Reply)
the cunning plan relates to the gathering of drinking funds!
the afternoon is about as easy as it gets...
1)beer
2)pizza
3)beer
4)beer
5)beer
repeat steps 3 to 5 as required.

simples! as the meerkat says.

Simples!
The meerkat is Flatmate's mum's ringtone, as I discovered on Saturday.

That'll do, Marrer.

do you remember a pub called "The Shambles" on Lowther Street?
then it became "The Post" then it was an Irish one ...
and now it's called "The Gilded Lilly".
and that is where we will await your presence!
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 21:22, Reply)
Well no, frankly.
I can't remember much of Carlisle because it was always a place to get drunk in then get the next train out.

Is Lowther Street the one that curves round opposite the station towards the old bus station?
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 21:41, Reply)
nah mate, that'll be the crescent...
which leads to lowther street.
the lilly is the pub on the right hand side of lowther street, opposite pizza express (used to be Lloyds bank). the howard arms is at the other end of lowther street opposite what used to be the old bus staion before it became either iceland or a car park. can't really remember the old bus station cos it were demolished about 35 years ago...
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 22:11, Reply)
Oh I'll find it.
I'll check this tomorrow morning when I'm sober.

Look out for a 5'6", bespectacled, smartly dressed gent, with hair.
(, Thu 15 Oct 2009, 22:20, Reply)
and you keep a look out for a slightly tubby-yet-muscley 5'11" dude in jeans and t-shirt...
sitting quaffing booze with Gronzo. we will probably be laughing like a pair of drains!
