Wishmaster!I'd forgotten all about them. Got a copy of Puppet master a few weeks back, there's another classic. They don't make them like that any more.
I'm prudish about remakes as well, refuse to watch the American versions as they have no idea about atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised with a recent French-Canadian film called Martyrs though, check that one out if you haven't already, seriously twisted and atmospheric.
