Years ago I went to the Comedy Store
and saw a live version of 'Whose line is it anyway?' with unknowns (well, jobbing actors and comedians). I was very close to hysteria - real, full on hysteria - tears pouring down my cheeks, inability to breathe properly and people staring at me. When they asked for suggestions from the audience for a Sherlock Holmes mystery I shouted out, "Sherlock Holmes and the case of the rubber chicken" then almost expired from self-induced hilarity. They did it and I was very close to passing out.

Thank god for my (then) youthful pelvic floor muscles - not even a little bit of pee escaped.

A few years ago
I went to see Bottom 2 live, Eddie Izzard, Ardal O'Hanlon and Ben Elton in the same week. My chuckle muscles haven't been the same since.

You can keep Ben Elton
but the rest would have finished me off - I'd have been a pool of sweat and pee - even watching Bottom which revolts me and makes me laugh in equal measure!

BTW when you phoned back the other evening we were on the underground.

Ah, figured that might have been the case.
Ben Elton i can take or leave sometimes but that night he was on form.
