the chance to see what are a quite superb band, but in order to do so I have to a) go to Glasgow on a school night and b) converse with you.
a) doesn't really present a problem to me, Unfortunately I was planning to use an angle grinder to remove my own eyes on sunday night, which is still going to be preferable to part b). So I'm declaring myself out.

I was a huge fan of Mercury Rev though, but I didn't get the last album as I heard it was a bit shit. Shame really.

might have to dig some out
I've been listening to a lot of Queens of the Stone Age recently

They haven't really evolved their sound at all, which is okay I guess if you really like it, but I find after a while it gets a bit tedious. I really liked Rated R, and Songs for the Deaf was very good in parts but Lullabies to Paralyse was just more of the same really.

I've just kind of picked the best of each of the albums, and their good songs tend to be very very good indeed.
have you heard Them Crooked Vultures?
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:35, Reply)

Have they released anything yet? I'm rather lloking forward to hearing them
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:37, Reply)

What are they like?
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:39, Reply)

made up of Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones.
I haven't heard them, but I can't imagine it can be anything but good
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:40, Reply)

I don't think Dave Grohl has ever done a bad album, although I never heard Probot so not sure about that (although it quite probably is grohltastic)
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:41, Reply)

most of the songs on there are a bit lame, but that one is awesome.
Dave Grohl is the devil, and sings this quality bit that goes
"I'm the Devil, I love metal" (duh-duh-du-du-duh-duh)
"Check this riff it's fucking tasty"
( , Fri 13 Nov 2009, 10:44, Reply)

that I really enjoyed. "check this riff it's fucking tasty" almost makes up for the whole rest of the film.

But we shouldn't be mean to him, he's going through a lot at the moment.

I'm not ruining that experience by seeing him in Glasgow.
Besides, I've got my HOT GIG-PARTNERS set up for this month already.
