They aren't real sugar, so it doesn't work. Besides, then I'd have to specially buy caster or icing sugar just to have as a toppingthen have it sit alone and unloved in the cupboard because it's foul.

caster sugar is real sugar (unless you don't count white sugar as real sugar)it's just fine grained.
