HOME SWEET HOME!

this being our first Sunday in our new home those words have never meant quite as much as they do today!

how is the new place?

Full to the brim with boxes!
I didn't know we had this much stuff ;-)
I've taken a couple of days off to enjoy the benefit of all my hard work.

It was a two bed terrace three years ago...
Now it's a three bed with a bathroom and an en-suite, converted the loft, under-pinned the back half, basically gutted the mo-fo and started from scratch.
In the best tradition of insane projects it all started with stripping the wallpaper in the main bedroom...

its allways the way

Every project has to start somewhere ;-)
and it may as well start in the wrong place as the right place.
It's where we have ended up that counts.
I didn't compromise on anything, it was all about erasing the past and creating a wonderful home for my family and I.
And I must say that I'm rather pleased with the result.

are you a diy enthusiast?

I are a Plumber who is also a qualified Surveyor.
I can turn my hand to pretty much anything I guess.

interesting combo
I wish i could do that, I consider myself fairly competent at DIY but I know when to call a professional in.
(, Sun 22 Nov 2009, 10:46, Reply)
My dad (now retired) used to run the Plumbing shop at the local tech college.
So I've been surrounded by construction all my life.
I've had my years in the wilderness and do what I do now because I enjoy it .

Good stuff Baireau
I hope celebratory bacon sarnies are the order of the day - New houses should always be marked by pork products.

All hail the mighty pig!
There's an Ogden Nash poem about pigs, something about "the pig, if I am not mistaken supplies us sausage, ham and bacon"
we are having polish pork and gherkin soup this evening, with a couple of racks of spare ribs for afters!

Pig overdose ;-)

Nice!
I may be forced to have a gammon steak as I'm feeling left out in the pork stakes .... O.Ding on pig sounds like a way to go.

I plumped for the turkey dinner
I have failed. Gotta try and get myself motivated for going back to work after 2 weeks leave .... It's really not happening, so far I've got my gear ironed and lunch made but that's it.

Not long til the weekend :|

I was just wondering what kind of venomous choad would post a response like that...
and then I realised who had done the posting!
God almighty, you really are soooooooooo funny!
(, Sun 22 Nov 2009, 19:57, Reply)
It's not 'choad', it's "THE CHOAD", not that I even know what that means.
You had best contact a Mod or something, someone having a joke shouldn't be allowed on a humour orianted website.

I think I may have broken some rule by being somewhat irreverent towards the 'home shit home' concept.

(, Sun 22 Nov 2009, 20:54, Reply)
Achly I think what puts you out of order ain't the HSH disrispek...
It was more to do with hoping that my home burns down.
That's just not nice.
