QUESTION: should I buy glasses before or after christmas?
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 19:49, Reply)
If not, or they are the kind that hold wine, then do it anyway if they're cute. Because you know if you see something you want and don't buy it, it haunts you till you do.

I should start wearing my patch so my eye doesn't go all wonky, anyway, they will help with my laaaaaaaayzee eye
I'm just wondering if I'll get a better deal after christmas since small businesses need money all year round, etc
anyway, how's you?

I am very content, having spent yesterday shopping like a loon in France and am now a little tiny bit broke.
Then again Christmas is upon us so they may have some kind of "give the gift of sight" sale thing on. I have to be coerced practically at gunpoint into wearing my glasses, I hate them! Contacts FTW.
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:05, Reply)
contacts are too much work for me, and I like stylish glasses, plus I have this thing about eyes, the thought of touching it let alone putting something in it?! yuck !

Have freaked out many people with how willingly I will poke little bits of plastic into my eyes...
I did :D new pair of shoes, Underworld trilogy on blu-ray, pretty star fairy lights that are now on top of my TV, a black satin skirt, thin black top that I have since discovered is too transparent for work, and a thick bronze hoody. A successful haul!

*sigh* I just don't like a lot of the stuff out now, I'm sooo picky :(
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:17, Reply)
since I wear my suit trousers to work all the time now To Be Taken Seriously (used to go in in whatever was decent and clean). I think a new, fabulous suit may be in order...

and I may dress up once or twice every few weeks
apparently this isn't good enough for them, they haven't said so but I'm feeling the need to toss some stuff.

My clothes rarely match (matching underwear is an achievement these days) - if it's clean I wear it together for work, till I was told I was being seriously considered for this promotion...
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:33, Reply)
I can pull it off with some things but don't do it often.
Cripes I just realised how long it's been since wearing fancy pants.
I've become some sort of comfort only soccer mom. *cries*

I'm usually pretty good about getting mine to match but I've moved bedrooms again lately and am still trying to marry all my socks etc back up...
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 21:03, Reply)
I've just done the same, I've got a drawer full of frilly knickers, garters and stockings tho that never get used so I don't really need to buy more.
gawd matching socks is such a pain

Wearing balcony bras and frilly things is my way of rebelling now I'm old enough to buy my own underwear, and I now feel weird if I wear anything less... good if you do happen to get some sexehtiem though!
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 21:09, Reply)
my parents were like fucking mormons, wouldn't let me shave my legs until I was...golly...way old, sad times
Thanks Mal, I think I shall start a frilly knicker revolution and wear them more often

I may wear suspenders to my interview... no reason, just to give me the confidence to metaphysically shake them by the throat and say GIVE ME THIS JOB NOW.
My mother wouldn't let me shave my legs till I was 13 and still goes on at me now for plucking my eyebrows now I'm 24.

Be stylish for NYE, assuming you were getting stylish glasses, which you totally should. I'm ordering some from www.glassesdirect.co.uk, hopefully in time for the party season.
What's the point in getting new glasses in January? January is dismal.
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:01, Reply)
besides, I can get glasses after christmas and before nye
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:02, Reply)
I don't care since I never wear them...
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:52, Reply)
for the first time since I was 15.
How are you good sir?
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:08, Reply)
got red wine, a full "buzz box" and radio 6 is playing almost-lost Brazilian genius Rodriguez - I'm just in from the cold, just thawing out and things look OK suddenly.
Also go some ad-hoc work tomorrow - translating French legal documents for my dealer. I'm asking no questions and judging no-one.. something to do, anyway.
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:53, Reply)
but I do have a French degree so let us know if you need any help...
I'm ripping some new CDs that a friend burned for me and realising exactly how eclectic my musical taste is. And yes, it is fucking freezing today! I think I may have to concede that yes, it is finally too cold for my silk corset coat.

if you find ones that you like. They make you see properly and can look cool.
I like acetates. The pair I'm currently wearing cost £20 including delivery off t'internet and they're fucking cool.
(, Tue 1 Dec 2009, 20:58, Reply)
and there are some red ones that are pretty tempting for the days I can't be arsed to stick plastic in my eyes. Thing is I'm so used to contacts now that I'm no longer accustomed to the weight on my nose...

my DVD drive has now suddenly decided I have half a second to put a disc in before it closes again.
