Agreed

However, I'm not sure that they are *technically* good films...

The Wicker Man is Hammer, isn't it?
If it is, it was remarkably better than any of their other ones, I grant you.

Ever see any of those Hammer House of Horror TV specials, with about 4 short films? I saw one where a bloke kept waking up into another dream and then waking up into yet another one etc - it was fucking nuts.

Nah, it was British Lion.
Christopher Lee did it because he wanted to expand his acting roles away from Hammer.

EDIT: The Wicker Man is fucking ace though. However, Nicolas Cage should be punched in the face, repeatedly (as should anyone else involved) for that god-awful remake that took the original story, bent it over, and fucked it to death.

It was that very remake
that catapulted the balding, horse-faced 'action hero' to the very top end of my face punching list. What a fucking cunt.

And Raising Arizona was in no way as good as people seem to think either.

The cunt.

Yes,
I've seen that one...they were pretty creepy. the one with Donald Pleasance, selling the matches and taking the guy back to the house where is blind daughter is. Then the one with the demon thing in the mirror, that compels the guy to kill so it can escape, then the guy ends up inside the mirror.

They don't make them like that anymore, that's a fact.

Proper creepy.

Tales of the Unexpected
A lot of shite in there, but now and again a proper gem would appear. This example, is perhaps the creepiest, most chilling piece of television i have ever had the misfortune of seeing.

They wouldn't get away with making that these days, that's a fact. Seriously, give this a whirl.
