I tend to write crappy stories etc and keep it on my computer rather than post it out in the world, its a good creative outlet! :D

are you saying I write crappy stories?

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 14:56, Reply)
Nope yours are probably good
mine are crappy but I bask in their crappy glory!
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 14:58, Reply)
nah
mine are relatively crappy but you're your own worst critic so you probably have good stories.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:00, Reply)
One was about garden gnomes taking over the world...
...
...
...
crappy! Haha
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:01, Reply)
sounds like the plot of an episode of Dangermouse

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:02, Reply)
Maybe I had watched too much Dangermouse
and it made my brain think gnomes was a good book idea!! :S
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:04, Reply)
Daaangermoooooouse
That's you. To me, you'll always be Dangermouse.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:17, Reply)
YAY!
As a kid I was called Dangermouse by my little friends because my initials are DM! :D
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:27, Reply)
when Mrs V first met my friends it was at a fancy dress party
I had pretty much insisted she dress as Dangermouse.

It went down well.

I was dressed as a vicar.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:28, Reply)
That's how my friend's mum was dressed
when she met her future son-in-law for the first time.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:34, Reply)
Dangermouse
is an excellent fancy dress costume. I had an argument with DiT last Halloween as I wanted to go to a party dressed as DM and I wanted him to go as Penfold... he got angry and said he was Dangermouse... as a compromise I went as a bee and he went as a Viking.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:36, Reply)
I can imagine him getting angry about that

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:37, Reply)
I suppose its understandable
no one really wants to be Penfold... no one really wants to be Robin either... why be the shit sidekick when you can go for glory as the main dooood!
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:40, Reply)
we had a hamster called Penfold, way back in t'80s

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:42, Reply)
But he would be a good Penfold and you would be a good DM
We can't always have our druthers. Put your foot down.
I'll tell him when I see him.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:40, Reply)
Hehehe careful now
He really doesn't want to be Penfold! Hehe
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 16:02, Reply)
I didn't know others had done this before me!
*stalks and kills*
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:30, Reply)
I had an idea the other day that sounded like a bad christmas movie

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:06, Reply)
Oooh do tell!

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:12, Reply)
Husband and wife are seperated, rich, he lives elsewhere but he's still paying for everything: kids, clothes, cars, house.
so he moves back in, not wanting to pay for seperate housing
fighting ensues
eventually they fall back in love
everyone's happy etc
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:27, Reply)
I see Vince Vaughn
as the male lead in this film! :D
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:37, Reply)
that sounds like my life
minus the wealth and the moving back in bit
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:43, Reply)
also, that's not crappy
it's interesting
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:09, Reply)
Haha
Thank you, it was silly really. Gnomes meeting tri-annually at an undisclosed location to plot world domination… as you do.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:13, Reply)
that sounds fucking awesome

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:14, Reply)
Haha
I'll send you a copy if I ever finish it! :D
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:17, Reply)
I write crappy songs

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 14:56, Reply)
Hehe me too!
I found a notebook full of my crappy songs the other day, they were terrible! How I laughed!! Hehehe
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 14:59, Reply)
I think I've written 5maybe 3 good songs in my entire life
The rest make me go red with embarrassment.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:10, Reply)
Hehe they're funny.
I love it when you find things you wrote when you were younger and get really embarrassed! Hehe
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:16, Reply)
I've been told my poems seem more like songs
I've tried to actually write a song but they come out terrible
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:10, Reply)
My songs are like shit poems

(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:12, Reply)
I've tried writing lyrics before
and I can't get anywhere with it. my brain won't accept anything other than lyrical perfection, and yet is unable to provide it.

I stick to music instead
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:12, Reply)
I'm better at lyrics than bloody music
If someone writes chords I can be interesting with melody and lyrics, but actually writing a song from nothing I CAN'T DO.
My ex is a prize nutter and it's such a shame because we wrote ace stuff and even won a couple of songwriting things in local clubs. We had very few friends so it was genuine recognition!
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:15, Reply)
does fucking about with ReBirth and a midi controller
count as making music? if it does, then i have 'made music'. Just jam for a while, loading in drum patterns, 303 melodies/squeals etc, then press record and start the ball rolling. It's excellent fun, however, the results can sound a tad repetative and samey, but sometimes dance music IS like that.

Then I think about knocking out one of those crappy hard house tracks, with the constant 4x4, cymbals and snare, fire in a 'soaring' female vocal, get the chipmunk filter onto it and thats it, job done!.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 16:01, Reply)

without the music - I've only ever made up riffs and soloed. The idea of a properly-structured song makes my head hurt. Hell, I'm impressed by The Ramones...
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 15:18, Reply)
the few actual songs I've come up with have been quite nice
none recorded unfortunately, but mostly I make up second guitar parts, and solo while making faces
