Mint condition 'Are You Experienced?' original UK pressing
I've German reissue that I actually use for listening - the original was a (fucking expensive) gift.

Either that or my Pink Fairies poster. This sounds pretty 'meh' until you find out that it was made specially for me by scanning the inner gatefold of their 1st LP (without me knowing), arsing around with the image on photshop to remove creases etc, printed onto super high quality heave paper and then framed in a massive metal frame. Lots of thought and hard work, as well as expense.

What's just occurred to me is that both of these were from the mental ex. She did have a good side to her.

EDIT Or a bust of my grandfather. My grandmother couldn't bear to have it in her house after he died as it's such a good likeness. Or my sword from the other side of the family, worn at the coronation of George V. That's pretty fucking smart.

'Exhibit A:
One slightly dishevelled Charles II lookalike with a rundown cockney hovel that looks like a record shop and smells of the heady mix of cat shit and pot.'

'Objection sustained.'

this prompted me to look at the posts on the popular page
mine are "kick her in the fish-mitten"

and that one earlier about bukkake.

does this say something about me, or something about the freaks who are clicking the posts?

mentioning of breasts is strictly forbidden

those are some pretty cool things
I have no heirlooms as yet.

I'm hopeful that I stand to inherit a load of nice old books as my grandfather was a county librarian and book binder, and none of my aunts/uncles/cousins can read

I have a shitload of militaria from my father's side
and more to come when he croaks. Spurs and shit from WW1, Nazi money and other WW2 stuff, and some older bits and pieces.

From my mother's side there will be loads of books too, half of them written by the grandfather whose bust I refer to above.

I'm never, ever smug about my own trainwreck of a life but my forebears are pretty remarkable on both sides and I am immensely proud of them.

mine did some fairly cool things
not quite so cool as the Sex Pistols thing with which your grandfather was involved however!
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 16:49, Reply)
That's the thing I'm most proud of, I think
He didn't give it a moment's thought afterwards and had absolutely no idea of the cultural significance of the record or his role in its name. Were it not called 'Never Mind the Bollocks' I think part of its impact would have been lost.

it is a pretty awesome thing
