I've just had to do a blast of work for some in another office
at about quarter to 3 I was sat thinking I had another interminable afternoon stretching ahead of me, when someone fires up the Vip-symbol.

Now my brain hurts from overuse, but I've got the work done, saved someones arse from a kicking by the client, and am left feeling more smug and self-satisfied than usual. Frankly though I'm amazed I got the bastard to work.

Anything surprised you or made you feel smug this afternoon?

I'm going to go home
eat steak fajitas, then go to band practice and get my smoke on.

it's been a good day, should be a good night. hopefully tomorrow day won't be shit, and then it's the weekend!

That sounds excellent
I've been thinking about getting another band together for some time now. When my remortgage comes through I might get a Vox AC30.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:18, Reply)
nice
that was one of the ones I considered

I've got a Fender Blues Junior. can highly recommend it. Fucking loud for a small amp.

I'd say it's almost as loud as my 100w Marhsall transistor job

*makes notes*
I really want a Vox Phantom guitar too - THE guitar of the mid-60s garage boom. They're probably shit to play but they look utterly smart in every way, and you can get replicas nowadays for a few hundred dollars, so my father can grab me one, and I then have an excuse to go and visit him in Virginia.

fuck that's an ugly guitar
I know I want more guitars, but I don't know what I want....
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:27, Reply)
Ah man they're gorgeous!
Put one together with a Brian Jones haircut, some shades and cuban heel Chelsea boots and you have that mid-60s groovy look all together.

Maybe it's because I'm obsessed with that era of music but that mean, fuzztone guitar just appeals to me so much. Pretty much every single band of that time had them.

my tastes run a bit later
so Strats and the like. My ibanez is a thing of beauty too.

I found a load of files at work
which have been missing for about two months – this made me rather smug I have to say! *smugs*

.
I managed to make a piece of excel code work properly, after hours of trying.

It's all good!
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:09, Reply)
I worked out how to do subtract on Excel the other day
That's where I'm at.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:14, Reply)
fuck me
hardcore stuff!
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:16, Reply)
I wanted the cell to be the result of one cell subtracted from the one next to it
No more, no less.
God bless me. I didn't want to ask anyone. I've asked too many silly Excel questions recently. Bloke only told me about 'paste special' two months ago :(
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:22, Reply)
aww
I use excel an awful lot for huge amounts of data.

My usual way of thinking is that it's much less effort to be good at something than it is to be bad.

I used to know how to do some really fancy things in Excel
but my memory has failed me as I haven't done them for YEARS now! :(
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:35, Reply)
I can do CTRL+V and EVERYTHING! ;-)

(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 17:43, Reply)
