I've tried restoring the BIOS settings but to no avail,It's a laptop so removing RAM would require someone with more knowledge than me.
I'm going to try to disable the ACPI when I get home, but as I don't have the internet there, I had to wait until I came into work to find out how.

Oh man, you're so screwed.I suggest you consolidate all your debs into one easy afordable monthly repayment, quit uni and get a job.
