The closer you are to the nightlife, though,the closer you are to the students. Portswood is a case in point, as is the Polygon. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing overall, but I find living near the students a bit rowdy at times and I am one.
Most important thing to remember is to not live near Burgess Road. It's just not worth it.
