Never heard of who?
I had to clear out my roof cavity last Christmas so that it could be insulated; all I found was an old inflatable paddling-pool, some building rubble, and several bags of wallpaper scrapings.


Because when you're redecorating your house and have to choose between taking the old stuff downstairs to the bin, or up into the attic and building a wall around it, you'd clearly choose the latter, wouldn't you? I'm constantly amazed at the stupid things done to this place by previous occupants.

a paddling pool?
lucky. all I got in my roof was a pane of glass, an irregular roll of lino and 100 years worth of dust and soot.

and some lead. that was the only thing worth having. my mrs, despite being a structural engineer had no idea how bendy lead was, so was quite amazed when I bent a fat, thick pipe into several loops.
