I found a whole mother fucking new floor in my flat.
And it was filled with all sorts of stuff, ledgers from 1933, 80/90s porn and video games, and...ermmm... all sorts.

Just think, some of that stuff was written by people who have never heard of Hitler.

I dream of finding something like this!

Never heard of who?
I had to clear out my roof cavity last Christmas so that it could be insulated; all I found was an old inflatable paddling-pool, some building rubble, and several bags of wallpaper scrapings.

Because when you're redecorating your house and have to choose between taking the old stuff downstairs to the bin, or up into the attic and building a wall around it, you'd clearly choose the latter, wouldn't you? I'm constantly amazed at the stupid things done to this place by previous occupants.

a paddling pool?
lucky. all I got in my roof was a pane of glass, an irregular roll of lino and 100 years worth of dust and soot.

and some lead. that was the only thing worth having. my mrs, despite being a structural engineer had no idea how bendy lead was, so was quite amazed when I bent a fat, thick pipe into several loops.

All my loft contains is lots of boxes from when I moved in
That, and a whole load of insulation. At least it makes for a nice, warm flat.

Unexpected treasure is tidy
When we moved into our house the old folk left the cellar full o' stuff ..... Gas masks, ancient hand tools, a workbench which would withstand a nuclear blast and some antique grumble mags. The perms weren't only on their heads!

Bravo on your find.

I had a dream once that there was a whole room hidden in a flat I was in
and I looked and found a sealed up doorway so "fell" through it and found that it led to another 3 rooms all cobwebby but fully furnished in 60'sish furniture and everything fully intact. we actually told the landlord and it turned out the owners grandad had sealed it up after his wife died young as it was the area she died in. It was really interesting though I wish I had pictures. Things like really old custard tins and stuff in the cupboard. No money or gold though!

Fab pictures
Thanks for sharing.

All we found in our loft was everyone else's loft! There are no walls between our attic and the rest of the terrace.

Friends of my folks found £10,000 in used tenners in their attic when they moved in to their new house.

When I left the house I grew up in....
... I left around the place padded envolopes with "Takings [date]" written on them, in place that they'll find in year's time.

Excellent
We found a huge pair of 70s goodmans speakers, a 6ft kickboxing bag, loads of 70s porn and a load of empty cereal boxes when we cleared out the loft of my old flat.

We cleared out the loft in my old place when we moved out
I found a huge box of porn mags. I had put them there when my friend Gary gave them to me.
