He's just acquired a 60s Fender Jazzmaster
which I am itching to have a go on.

nice
I need more guitars.

my mate picked up one of these recently
www.recordingking.com/resonators_rm991.html

I'm still not sure of the look, but it sounds beautiful, especially in an open tuning and played with a slide.

we came up with some good stuff last night.

I love a good bit of slide
Being retarded, I struggled with it for years before someone suggested tuning to an open G. Revelatory.

I'm still not very good at it, but it's one of the most evocative sounds ever, I utterly love it. Mine's glass, I've had steel ones in the past but they sounded too scratchy - my fault I'm sure.

That's a freaky-looking guitar but I kinda like it.

open D works nicely
and a normal tuned guitar works well with it if in Drop D.

my slide technique is a bit shit, but my mate has been playing that guitar non-stop for two weeks and has come along really nicely. He's got a really fat glass slide, which seemed crap at first, but is much better than any other I've used.

that guitar sounds incredible with a slide. really warm and rich.
