I find the combat is better if you relax a bitand block a lot
there are plenty of guides to it online if you can't get past a certain bit.

AbsolutelyIt's all about blocking and then attacking on the counter.
I'd have liked to have had more of the stupid enemys that were in the first few sections that you could just hack at but the more thoughtful fighting later was still fun even if it was in a different way.
