Time for the usual name calling to begin
The Twilight books. It starts terribly, but they get better. I still find them enjoyable, and well written. Although I think her other book "The Host" was better than any of them.

Also, Let The Right One In (film version) was a bit slow at first, but was superb at the end.

The third twilight book was acceptable
the first two were really bad and the fourth was so indescribably shite I feel cheapened by the fact I wasted my time reading it (even though it was a pirate download I was reading). I really hope that something bad happens to Stephanie Meyer so she can never waste trees with her shit again.
