ExactlyI think if you're going to advertise yourself as a survivalist you shouldn't get to switch it off when you want.
There should be a Mears v Grylls survival-off or something. See who dies first. Although I've noticed that I've never actually seen Ray Mears making fire, he just shows the village kids how it should be done and then sets them to work on it.

I've seen Mears show New Zealand Maoris how their ancestors 'probably' made fire.They seemed pleased - Grylls carries a flint rod and bashes his knife against it to make sparks. There is one essential difference between the two boys. Grylls just wants to leave wherever he is whereas Mears just wants to make it nice - it's like a wilderness makeover show. To be fair, he'd be better off up against Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen.
