We were singing together - she did a cracking version of 'Crazy' (figures) then we did 'The First Cut is the Deepest'.
Strange thing is we did the whole songs - I didn't think dreams lasted that long.
Off for brekkie now then shopping for Mrs. Vest's 50th birthday pressie . All and any ideas welcome.

That dream sounds too much like me for it not to have happened.
I hereby declare today National I Dream Of Roota Day.
Edit: WHatever you get her, make it something she can keep forever. Don't get something that's fine and dandy now, but will eventually need replacing.

Jewellery is a good bet. But get whatever you've seen that she likes and wears.
Is she silver/gold/modern/traditional/celtic?

Something expensive but understated. A nice fine white gold chain with a single diamond pendant.
Go to Tiffanys jewellery on-line.

Jewellery was my thinking. I'll have a look round, but in fact I have a cunning wheeze. The weekend of her birthday we are going away to the town where her favourite jweller has a shop. So she could choose something herself. Or - this is the cunning bit - if she finds something she likes, I can put her off and send my daughter back to get it after. Then give it to her later that night. (I'm sooo glad this is Saturday and I can type a line like that without the usual responses!)
Off now - maybe later, prolly Monday.
