All that will be left will be other people opinions and the desire to kick someones lungs out. Not meaning to be negative, but I am currently desperately trying to claw my way out a very similar position.
It's amazing how fickle and idiotic people can be when it comes to web design. They give you no brief, ask you to 'just come up with something' and when you do they tell you it's not really what they are looking for. Then, THEN they tell you in a half arsed way what they were looking for initially, and even then they're 'not really sure'.
Good luck anyways mate, maybe you will be working normal people, as opposed to hare lipped manatees..

i read clients from hell, i've got my eyes half-open going in
this is a purely internal role for a smallish company, so i've got half a chance that it won't be all ball-aching hatred

it was for a holiday cottage that she had. She explicitly said she wanted leaves and stuff on it, and various other things.
I obliged and made one of the best bits of design I've ever done, there was much approval from my colleagues and management.
She totally hated it. So much so that she flipped out, shouted at my boss, and went and got someone to make her one of the worst sites I've ever seen.

The problem is, that these cunts don't even know WHAT they want. Therefore how will they know if it is want they want when they see it?
Violence - The only answer.
