Dream holiday would probably be Transiberian Railway or possibly Japan

Is that the original Trans-Siberian, or are you also considering doing the Trans Mongolian or Trans Manchurian
I did the Trans Mongolian a few years ago. Only bit of advice I'll give is if you don't want any fuss with the Russian visas, make sure you get them before you set off. Thankfully, me and my friend found them in a place in Lithuania that does them. Mongolian and Chinese visas are easier to obtain when on the go.

But whichever one you do go on, do make sure you see Lake Baikal in some form or other.

I want to do just the original Transiberian though if I had money I'd do the others. Did you enjoy your trip?
