All four are worth a watch.

There was a superb issue of Empire devoted to Alien
where they discussed the original screenplay for Alien 3, it was going to be set on a wooden space station inhabited by monks who had fields of corn and there would be a scene where Ripley is forced to burn the fields to get the Alien.

It sounded amazing. Shame it didn't turn out like that.

Alien 3 is my Second favourite
I think its because I saw it before Aliens and prefer the suspense and no weapons to the gung ho marines.
