Durham is nice.
Sunderland's OK as I remember. I used to have the odd night out there when I was but a student. Which was 20 years ago now I think about it *sobs*

Shit for parking though. Use the park and ride just off the A1.

Yep.
Sunderland - Newcastle, Newcastle - Durham. Service is pretty regular, trains to Durham about every 15 minutes or so (and only takes 10).
