The thing is 99% of normal people in the safety of a car or other privacy or whatever will always make snide remarks about idiots they've just spoken to. I do it all the time at work - *puts down the phone* "Cunt".
However, the ramifications of not hanging up properly are too severe so you really need to be 100% sure. What a pap.

1) Being rude to a faithful Labour supporter, when the current Labour strategy is to retain as many as possible is detrimental.
2) To all those white working class Labour supporters who are worried about immigration, rightly or wrongly, it now looks like Labour are scared to have reasonable debate on the matter.
3)Although a very human mistake, this undermines how people feel about all politicians, that is that they are "slick" PR driven policticians in public and completely different and uninterested in the proletariat in private.

is that his responses to her in public were reasonable and did address the issue she raised. And the fact that the daily mail is saying "If she's a bigot, then we're all proud to be bigots" is laughable. Yes, her opinion on all the immigrants flooding over here is bigoted. It's also wrong.
But sadly Brown has now destroyed any chance he had of salvaging something from this election.

that all of Gordon's media advisors were saying move on, leave it alone and that he and he alone said he would go back to apologise. Somehow I don't believe it.

There really is no way to make this better. But the way the media aren't actually playing her comments back is quite annoying as she was heckling him and then coming out with typical old persons "Coming over here, stealing our benefits" comments.
