and I include things I want to do like making a cake, then tick them off when I'm done. The list always looks better when it's half ticked off, that motivates you to finish the rest.
When I have to do things I don't want to, like tidying up, I'll do say 10 little jobs, like polish the mirror, take the rubbish out, etc, then I'll play a level or up to a save point on one of my consoles as a reward.
When it comes to my big picture, I want to emigrate within the next 5 years, but my first goal is to pay off my credit card, then to start saving, then to do a reccy trip over there. I can't do anything until I've paid off my credit card, so I won't think about any of the other stuff until I've done that. To keep myself motivated I go on emigration websites and read other people's success stories to keep me excited about it.
