Basics
OK, take the basics:

tent, sleeping bag, roll mat (can be substituted for 8 cans each night), micro travel towel, soap, suntan lotion, toothbrush & paste, maglite, change of clothes as necessary (bikini will get you free drinks but would get me arrested), fleece, waterproof jacket, oakleys, flipflops/sunny day shoes, walking boots/wellies for rainy mud, spare phone battery/AA battery phone charger (with high power AA batteries) and then senses of humour, adventure and naughtyness in varied quantities.

I have a more detailed ultimate festival list, but since you are a student this should do.
