Don't worry, Monty will be back soon
Yea, and his judgement shall be swift and wrathful and wreathed in tweed.

Hello you
how was blues?

argh the grammar! the grammar!

Blues was rich and bountiful in awesomeness and win
Got invited to play the opening set again, though I didn't realise he'd meant the second opening set and accidentally wandered onstage with the wrong band before someone corrected me! Still, got a few good sets in and managed not to embarass myself when called upon to solo this time. My violinist friend also came along and turned in a great performance.

How was your evening? Did you go for your regular outing in Soho?

Oh dear! I've done that at a school concert, walked on an act too early, hid at the side pretending to tune my bass.
S'good to hear you're doing well- sure something similar will happen next week :)

My evening was sedate- I stayed in for various reasons, and I'm avoiding alcohol for a while. This will end on Friday, though, never fear/be very afraid. Going shopping today, which will be nice.

Ah, is this the shopping excursion you were considering yesterday but decided to defer to today?
(I didn't know you played bass yourself. Did you also find it helped to take a limp-wristed stance when playing?)

Yesyes, with Red-Headed-Wastrel. Looking forward to it, going to get myself some bagels.
I love bagels.

I dabble- I'm by no means proficient, but can pick out a few notes- good enough to accompany. My friend on the other hand- sheesh. Most talented girl I've met. Excellent drummer, decent singer, decent pianist, demon bassist.

Bagels are wonderful things. I do know a good recipe for them, though I haven't made any for ages
You big jew, you.

I know, some people are just too damn talented, aren't they? There's a guy who sometimes turns up at the jam and just flits effortlessly between the bass, the piano and the drumkit. Most infuriatingly, it's hard to imagine a nicer feller.

I've not made them in ages either
Do you add malt to the water? It gives them a sweet coating on the outside and that shiny glazed look.

She's hot as hell and lovely too. Some people have all the luck :( I've only got to th standard of piano that I am with practice, but I do know how music works- plus my dad used to play "identify the artist" with me at a young age. Unfortunately I no longer remember what Bill Frizell sounds like.

Ooh, that might be what I'm doing wrong.
I only made them with flour and water - they came out quite well but were missing that glazed look.

I have no idea what Bill Frisell looks like, though I'd like to think my father gave me a pretty good musical education (read: the same sort of old-fashioned musical taste as Monty) for someone who can't get a note out of any instrument. Probably helped that my old piano teacher was really into jazz as well, but I'm not quite sure where the ardent love of blues came from...might have explored that on my own impetus.
