My uniform was SPECIAL.
Navy blue, pinstriped, calf-length, extra baggy culottes. The stripes were maroon.
A white shirt, or a white shirt with red, blue or maroon stripes.
A red, blue or maroon jumper.
Popsocks (black, navy or dark brown).
Sensible shoes.
A sensible navy or black coat. Not too fitted.

Except on sundays. Then it was:
Culottes
popsocks
shoes
White shirt with ruffles down the front.
A shapeless petrol-blue blazer.
A necktie bearing our school crest.


Sexy is NOT the word.
