My bf is doing a lot of hard work
to get a promotion, which is not easy right now, so I'd think he'll need a couple of years to get it, and then, he won't be able to just leave, he'll need to make the position stable.

By the time he can make it, all my adventurous feelings will be dead under a pile of baby bottles and shit.

aww don't feel sad
when you're really rich from all his work you can just take 6 month breaks whenever you like.

I try to get hope from his parents
Who've done very well, with only the father having a permanent job. They now have a great house and take a lot of holidays, although not long, because they feel bad if they're too long far from home.

When my parents retired they bought a barge
and sailed it around France, which is pretty cool. I want to do that when I'm old.

those dutch barges are cool
I stayed on one when I went to Amsterdam for a stag do. it was awesome. much better than a hostel.

I'll do something like that
If I can't convince him for a long break for our hm, then I'll start planning for when we retire :(
