The early stuff is a continuation of the Joy Division emo theme.Which fitted in with my teenage MO quite nicely.
The screaming disco queen in me loves Blue Monday and I quite enjoyed the raw jangliness of Confusion too. The latter is underrated. IMHO.
The Perfect Kiss is quite a good chill out track too.

Thieves Like Us and Bizarre Love Triangle sucked donkey balls though and bits of Technique were a tad unambitious.

I don't like Joy Division either.Just sounded like middle-of-the-road pop music to me, if I'm honest. I don't like Ian Curtis' vocals and that fucking 'same on every track' bass-playing drives me to distraction. Perhaps they should have also had an actual bass player, to fill out the bottom end*...
