So I think even from an early age I've come across as some bitter old git with a chip on his shoulder. Even on my 18th I ended up talking to a couple of strangers who wished me a happy birthday and thought I was in my early 20s.

but mid to late twenties. Somewhere around 28, 29, maybe?

Most people think I'm older than I am, some think I'm quite a lot older but that might be because I'm a bit staid and boring

I wouldn't say boring
you have an intellectual way of putting across your points though, which might lead to people thinking you are older, just because you are cleverer than them
