Probably what it was invented for.

Exactly
They're offering me lord wellington and cheddar, FFS!
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:48, Reply)
lord wellington?
surely he's rather decayed by now
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:49, Reply)
Probably Beef, but who knows with these forrins.

(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:50, Reply)
Yes, beef
It sounds very posh and exotic in Tenerife, but I can't bring 100 Englishman/British to Spain and offer them Lord Wellington beef and cheddar, can I?
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:51, Reply)
trying to cook beef wellington for that many would be a shame
it's supposed to be made with fillet, and that wouldn't be done justice en masse.
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:53, Reply)
I have no idea how they'd cook it
But again, I don't want to offer the British some British food. The woman in the hotel got quite upset that I didn't agree with her that it was the best meal for the guiris, and said it had always been a success between your type of people.

Go with the paella, Bad Beef Wellington would be like.... just bad, that's all.

(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 16:12, Reply)
Guiris say no to bad beef Wellington.

I am sick of some non-descript chicken meal. I'm also a bit sick of weddings full-stop (damn being at "that age" where all your mates/cousins marry).

pig, cow and possibly turkey. in a bun.
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:49, Reply)
And I'm going to the St Keverne ox roast in a few weeks. Jealous?

(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:51, Reply)
I've never had ox
so yes, I am.
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:53, Reply)
It's not really ox - it's the best roast beef you've ever had.
Get yer gums round that.
(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:58, Reply)
mmmmm

(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 16:04, Reply)
Yum! That sounds damn fine.

(, Thu 8 Jul 2010, 15:51, Reply)
Mmmmm
That sounds great.

I think I'm going to go for a buffet thing, with different dishes so everyone can choose.
