My father has decided to follow the tradition
and pay for the meal for the wedding, despite my complaints (around 100€/person).
He asked how many I was inviting, and I said around 180, but probably only 100 will go, as it's far and expensive. He, half joking, half serious, said that that was a lot of people, so Mark and I have cut the list a little.
Now, I keep receiving emails and calls from my parents asking me if they can invite more people. I can't say no to them, as they're paying, but I'm going to end up in a party full of their friends, rather than mine.
Incongruences, don't you love them?
(Yes, that counts as a question)

This is the old trap of parents and weddings.
Apparently the ideal way to handle this is to split the guest list into thirds - one third for your guests, one for your husband-to-be's guests and one third for your parents' intended guests.
(We ignored this, decided to pay for our own, and will not be inviting any of my or Captain V's da's family. We did concede to have some of our parents' friends at the evening bit though.)

Why do people sell their souls for a flashy wedding?
Is it a way of making sure thay can't get divorced until its all payed for. Or, if parents are paying, a way for them to make sarcastic comments when you are divorced.
I really hope you have a loving, long lasting marriage, but the wedding can go fuck itself.
Is that an incongruancy?

It's not a matter of being lazy
I wasn't aware that there was a time limit on a relationship at which point it either evolves into marriage or ends. You haven't met Ms Foxtrot. She, and all of her sisters, are resolutely commitment-phobic and anti-marriage. She regards the institution as outmoded and unnecessary and doesn't see the point in spunking £10K on one day when we could spend it going round the world. And in many respects she's absolutely goddamn right, it's only romantic sentiment that makes me want to get married. I have no problem with the prospect of asking her, but a) we can't afford a wedding right now and b) I don't think she'd say yes.
And again, can you blame her?

I don't know how to answer the question.
I am indifferent to other people's sexuality. I do get annoyed with anyone who goes around shouting look at me, look at me, whatever they are propounding. Eco warriors can fuck off. Camp queens can fuck off. Wheel screaming chavs in the tacky motors can fuck off.
I'm sure there are more, but I hope you get the picture.

In real life, I don't shout.
I tend to try and stay calm in all matters.
But, If you're asking.... I'M A FUCKING BRILLIANT ENGINEER, DON'T QUESTION MY DECISIONS.
I feel better now.

Not quite what I meant
I didn't mean to imply that the hounding scares gay men off or anything, just expressing my surprise that I'm not aware of any actual gay men who frequent Off Topic

If you'd paid slightly more attention to the text above my photos instead of cracking one out over them
you'd have realised that

I didn't assume you were gay
you assumed I assumed you were gay by my request for you to suck my balls. When merely I had just watched too much Southpark. Nevermind eh. Anyway I am off home now to wrap spandex around my love wand.

EDIT: Also, Ms Foxtrot does not want to hear on her wedding day "You do know he's a bumder, don't you?" a hundred fucking times
