I have an amazon mastercard
Every 1000 points I "earn" I get a £10 amazon voucher. 2 points for every pound spent on amazon and 1 point for every pound anywhere else.

It works for me.

Or alternatively, get a card that pays cashback such as Egg
same amount of money back but you're not restricted to spending it at Amazon.

The Egg cashback card I was unable to get
due to salary. And although I'm restricted to Amazon, it's pretty much on a par with the Egg cashback anyway so it's a great deal.
