My pal bought a Fender 12 stringlast year, but flogged it, when he realised how different the sound was from the Rickenbacker he was hoping to emulate. Bought a Jazzmaster instead - sounds great, but is a horrible turquoise colour...

Rickenbacker 12s are unusualthey are strung differently for a start.
The good thing about the Danelectro (other than Jimmy Page using the 6 string version) is that it is under £350
