I'm pretty good today
Crow and I saw SPACEMEN FUCKING 3 last night (less Jason Pierce). They were brilliant. Super-heavy psychedelic drone-rock majesty. I was blown away on a cloud of nostalgia. I bought their first ever record when it came out in the 80s - they went a bit shit and split up, but last night's focus was on the LOUD early stuff that I adore.

Never thought I'd see them live.

They don't happen to do the Sonic Boom song "Angel" live do they?
I have happy memories of getting lost in its hypnotic simple guitar line, and the increasing waves of drone guitar. It was one of those songs that you weren't sure whether you'd been listening to it for five minutes or half an hour. I've not heard it in ages and am going to dig out at the earliest opportunity.

Not last night,
it was a tribute to the chap who designed the Spacemen 3 covers who is dying, sadly, so it was all about the early stuff.
