don't wear a football strip of any kind
and it's best not to dress entirely in blue or green.
but seriously, it's a great city. the west end is the best bit, but I do love the city centre for shopping too.
when mrvitc came to the uk for the first time, I took him round glasgow on one of those open top bus tours - it was mid-june and fucking baltic, but still great. we went to glasgow cathedral (spectacularly gloomy place) and the people's palace, before ending up in the west end.
the hunterian museum, up at the uni, is great (I put together an icthyosaur skeleton for it as an undergrad!), and the zoology museum is cool too - although it's not open at weekends, and sometimes you have to step round students who are working there (probably not so much in the summer!) www.hunterian.gla.ac.uk/visit/zoology/zoology_visit.shtml


kelvingrove park is nice for a walk, although dangerous at night.

if you're looking for decent food/drinking, ashton lane is the best place for it - I find the city centre quite grim at night, but the west end is lovely.
