I was staying late writing a threatening letter and was at my desk about 8:30pm and one of the team leaders walked past and said "haven't you got a home to go to" I very nearly smashed my keyboard into my screen.

Is your deposit held in a tenancy deposit scheme? I think this became compulsory a couple of years ago to stop Landlords keeping hold of the deposit. If so & you can get it back then it might be less hassle/ stress just to look for a new place.

are you tasked with finding a new place or are you still hoping to stay?

If not I've seen a nice place that's 4 bedroom, so if I can find another 2 people then great, if not similar places to where I was have gone up in price.

You should have told him, half crying, about your situation, and make him feel awful about being rude.
How are things going? Where are you staying?
