Heading out to the airport
for my first trip to the UK. I got a couple of messages about meeting some of you in Manchester, send me your numbers if you care to and I'll call when I'm there. My cell won't work, but I will get a temporary one when I'm over.

It's my first trip out of the US...

Edit: Boarding the airplane - message me if you want to meet up Sunday night or Monday-Tuesday

We all wear smocks and tug our forlocks a lot.
If you speak like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, we will just about understand you. People in Manchester all talk in rhyming slang, and like being called 'Wancs'. Dunstable is the capital city, and that's the only place that bank notes are accepted. Everywhere else only accepts coins. Budget for about £1 per day, and you can live like a king.

Gaz me if you want any more advice.

Sarcasmmeter *high*!
I shall be there in a baseball cap, high waisted pants, and will speak loudly and obnoxiously, your highness

You'll fit in just fine.
Most of the proles dress like that anyway.

Have a great time, and visit some of the non tourist trap, sites.

While you are in the direction of Manchester
You could visit Chatsworth House. Its a day trip but a rather fine stately home.
