I've not found myself looking forward to a drama programme since...I really cannot recall. History programmes I love but generally 'normal' TV leaves me stone cold. The way his thinking processes are represented by words in the air means that you can follow the rapidity of Holmes' genius at work without him having to explain what he's thinking about to a third party at the expense of pace.
