It's 8:22 pm and I am stuck indoors watching Celebrity Master Chef
I have completely ignored the dentist and am having a smoke?

whats the last bit of advice you ignored and what were the consequences?

Alt Q: What the hell do I do staying in? I don't like this.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:23, 71 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
why would the dentist give a fuck if you smoke

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:25, Reply)
cause I had my wisdom tooth out on Tuesday morning and if you smoke
you increase the risk of 'dry socket' where the clot falls in and exposes the jaw to bacteria. I did over 24 hours so pleased.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:29, Reply)
its your body
you can smoke if you want to
smoke if you want to
smoke if you want to

with a name like Monty!!
you can talk.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:58, Reply)
Monty is a good name
Bobby on the otherhand reminds me of bobby-pins, bobby-socks and tomboyish girls. None of which are manly manly things
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:18, Reply)
fair enough none of which make me a homosexual though.
It's short for Robert Pires.

edit - doesnt help how bitchy that comes across. I was only messing with Monty but good white knighting.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:28, Reply)
I do a lot of staying in
I recommend crochet, B3TA and wanking
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:38, Reply)
is crochet the knitting thing?
I have had two wanks already I am done.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:39, Reply)
crochet is cooler than knitting
it only uses one needle/hook. It's the unicycling of the craft world
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:41, Reply)

While I'm here
recommend me some RSS feeds. I am aggregating.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:41, Reply)
I don't know what any of that means

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:49, Reply)
Not just me then, jolly D.

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:50, Reply)
I got introduced to them recently
you have a thing in google or something (that's your aggregator) and it shows you new articles from your selected sites whenever they are updated. Good for magazine stuff and webcomics
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:55, Reply)
Ah, I see.
I am old, father William.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:05, Reply)
It depends what you're into
I have things like BBC News and that to keep up with the news, Gizmodo to keep up with gadgets and technology announcements, and things like Failbooking, Lamebook and FMyLife for amusement. Oh, and a daily Dilbert comic.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:58, Reply)
I've not seen dilbert in ages
is it still funny?
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:05, Reply)
I think it's still brilliant

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:10, Reply)

I am going to stick Shutter Island on again.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:59, Reply)
it really is
between that and Twilight I imagine the original feminists are turning in their graves
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:00, Reply)
sssshhh I like twilight, don't tell anyone.

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:01, Reply)
you're ill
and cougar you're right. The whole thing is so pathetic. I thought the whole premise was empowering sex? It's just four women whining about men
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:06, Reply)
Isn't it written by benders?
Is it not really a programme about predatory NYC bummers acted by women?

This may well be wrong but I heard it somewhere.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:10, Reply)
No idea who it's written by
but I'm not sold on the idea that a woman who has great sex with whoever she fancies and likes it that way would (based on the three episodes I saw) be constantly neurotic about needing a man, needing to constantly be in a relationship or be icked out by the idea of dating a bisexual man
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:13, Reply)
yeah
It's all about the search for 'Mr Right' and wearing pretty frocks- not exactly progressive
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:12, Reply)
the shoes are nice
the dresses are half good, half bad, and the four women are as Monty succintly puts it bumders in frocks
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:15, Reply)
It's the prequel to "golden girls"
Can't remember where I stole that from but it's spot on.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 22:21, Reply)
Assault on Precinct 13
starts in a few mins on Film4.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 20:59, Reply)
original or remake with Larry F

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:00, Reply)
Remake
Larry F in full effect.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:02, Reply)
Larry F's daughter has just made a porn film,
according to the oracle (today's Metro). Larrold is not amused, surprisingly.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:07, Reply)
I saw that
her name is Chippy D. He needs to go Morpheus on her. She says it's the best way to start her career. No darling your daddy is.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:09, Reply)
I'd watch it
but no tvcatchup or bbciplayer here dammit
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:11, Reply)
A programme about the Normans has just started on BBC2.
History FTW!
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:05, Reply)
Thank you!

(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:08, Reply)
It's fucking brilliant
even though the presenter looks like a rapist.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:13, Reply)
Cheers!
I completely forgot about this.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:09, Reply)
The one from Cheers is my favourite

'I don't think you need any more to drink'
I'm told I laughed and bought some sambuca - I really don't recall. It took me nearly three days to get rid of that hangover.
Oh, and iplayer is your friend. I'm watching top gear and eating cherries and custard. Om nom nom.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:09, Reply)
I still haven't watched Sherlock from Sunday!
good shout.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:12, Reply)
I love that show,
and I am obsessed with the originals and a habitual disliker of new-fangled nonsense.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:14, Reply)
I've heard good things
but I'm really not a fan of modern updates. Especially since they usually shoehorn in some love interest or the other
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:16, Reply)
My god!
MONTY IN ENJOYING TV SHOCKER! Jesus, it must be good. You'd recommend then?
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:21, Reply)
it's superb.
I've not found myself looking forward to a drama programme since...I really cannot recall. History programmes I love but generally 'normal' TV leaves me stone cold. The way his thinking processes are represented by words in the air means that you can follow the rapidity of Holmes' genius at work without him having to explain what he's thinking about to a third party at the expense of pace.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:27, Reply)
I'll take your word for it
if I can find it online, I'll have a watch.

Edit: have you seen the new Sherlock Holmes film?
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:29, Reply)
have only seen the first episode but was impressed
I read a few when younger and have just downloaded some from Itunes for long drives.
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:30, Reply)
I dreamt I was drinking white wine last night
I really want white wine now
(, Wed 4 Aug 2010, 21:13, Reply)
I dreamt
that an old mate interviewed me for a job and I thought it was a dead cert, but then I had to do some kind of exam in binary. I was massively relieved to wake up.
