Charles Bukkake?

I'm still fighing my way through a couple of thousand pages of 'Hitler' by Ian Kershaw. I've read about four other books for light relief along the way, it's seriously heavy-going but brilliant.

Kafka on the Shore
it's one of Murakami's earlier books, and though I love all his work, it wasn't quite on the scale of his greatest

I would recommend
a different one of his to start with. For a shorter one try 'Dance, Dance, Dance' or for his best try 'Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World'

I once went on holiday for a week

I read a hell of a lot of books both ebook and real, and while most of them are switchable, Sherlock Holmes is one of the ones that doesn't work for me

I really don't understand that at all
I can understand if you don't like readers, the fact that you can't flick back a few pages to check something is a it annoying, but if you do like them, how can some books be better in print?

I'm cool with ereaders
though I prefer books. For me Sherlock Holmes is something I take genuine pleasure in reading, so I like to have it in my hands and take the time/space to bring it. The same is true for the author I mentioned above Murakami.

I have a Sony
the actual reader is brilliant, but what is shit is that you can't create your own books with meta data (like hyperlink contents pages etc.) and to get a decent format you need to convert everything to the stupid Sony proprietry format and Sony don't provide a convertor, but I've found one that does the conversion online. Still fiddly though.

But with new books I feel some urge to pay for them. Especially if I love the author- Murakami, Hobb, etc

I just don't have the space in my new place
I have too many books now and moving house with lots of books is a pain. I have an Ireader on my phone so my download them to that rather than audiobooks. I love listening to novels when driving.
