a few people I know read that Alan Carr book and said it was really good
the hypnotherapist guy, not the annoying fairy.

EDIT: I just stopped. I know it sounds silly, but I just stopped. After a couple of years of "Right, I'm definitely quitting soon, this is my last fag" and then binge-smoking every weekend, I just stopped. I don't remember when my last cig was because it wasn't a big ceremonious thing.

I still smoke weed occasionally though so I'll probably still get the cancer.

I did read that a couple of years ago. Cut down then but my consumption has increased again. I should re-read this.

If you can get to the stage where you hate smokers then you've won
I can't stand walking behind smokers on the way to work and it really bugs me when people smoke in bus stops and things because it stinks and you can't get away from it.

Conversely, I have a friend who used to proper have a go at me for smoking when I was younger, he would call them cancer sticks and if I'd sit next to him after a cigarette he'd tell me I stunk of smoke and he thought I was vile. He now smokes 10 a day. He is a wanker though.

It's fucking vile!
But smoking does look damn cool though.

I bought that book to my mother
waste of money (she never really wanted to quit, but she spends fortunes on things to stop smoking)

my friend quit smoking with nicotine gum
but he was still chewing the gum ten times a day, two years later, so he just switched his addiction from one thing to another, albeit the other was less cancerous.

My mother has done that
used patches, hypnotism, psycologists... everything.

She's still smoking.

My Dad just stopped
Went from a pack a day to zero. We didn't even notice for a week or two, because he didn't tell us or make a big deal of it.
Mind you, his angina attacks were a good prompter for quitting.

I did the same thing, Kitty.
Just kinda stopped buying smokes sometime at the beginning of the year. I hadn't really been enjoying them for awhile, so I guess that helped.
