invest it for at least 6 months with no option to touch it while I got my head around having such a huge amount of moneyby the time I'd figure out what to do with it, it will hopefully have earned a shitload more in interest.
/Also give me time to sort the wheat from the chaff friends/family-wise and decide how to divide it fairly

I'd like to thinkthat this would be my approach. But secretly I know the first thing I'd do is have a spending spree, and then take the sensible route of locking it up
