I just plan to recruit sparrows -buying their loyalty with all the breadcrumbs they can eat. I think Blue tits and goldfinches could join, too, but those guys are quite conspicuous so I think sparrows would do most of the work, also goldfinches always want nijer seed and that costs. Swifts and swallows would be pretty good for lighting reflexes, but they are quite flighty and hard to rely on.
So in conclusion. Sparrows are best for an army
