I've just been given a leaflet
Would anybody be interested in joining the British Lichen Society?
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 16:53, 18 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
What do you get to lich?

(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 16:56, Reply)
I'm not sure, but I think you'll lich it
Apparently "the society was founded in 1958 to stimulate and advance interest in all branches of lichenology."

I can see you're struggling to resist.

I am a bit turned on by this lichen stuff.
Tell me more.

They "have members throughout the world."
And there are pretty sexy lichen pictures on the leaflet.

You could learn how to identify lichens and "learn more about one of the most remarkable examples of mutual symbiosis - between a fungal and an algal partner."

Don't know about you, but I'm tenting already...

I lich it.
Me and my friends, we all lich it.

Depends, do I have to fight vampires?
Ho ho ho, the hilarity.
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 16:58, Reply)
The first time I saw the poster for that film, I did think
"Doesn't sound like much of a fight..."

Don't mock Lichen
How else is bare rock supposed to get colonised?
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 16:59, Reply)
I must admit, I find lichen quite interesting.
I'm just not sure I'd stump up £30 for a year's membership...
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:01, Reply)
It's my favoirite symbiotic relationship involving fungi and algae

(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:03, Reply)
Quite kinky, don't you think?

(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:17, Reply)
At first I wasn't so keen on the idea.
Now it's growing on me.
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:13, Reply)
BADUM TSCHH!
But seriously, that would be a good indication of the cleanliness of the air around you.
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:16, Reply)
Yes - let's be serious about this for a moment.

(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:18, Reply)
Lichen are deeply serious business
I sincerely hope you don't think this is a laughing matter.
(, Thu 2 Sep 2010, 17:22, Reply)
Certainly not.

*stares at Monty with serious teacher face*
This is very serious business, young man. I sincerely hope you don't find something funny about lichen. Hmmmm? Or perhaps, if you do, you'd like to share it with the rest of the class?
