I think people can protest over women, gays, etc.

But not over senseless hysteria that's been whipped up into a media frenzy

If people are able to form their own opinions on things, and decide that they disagree with them, and protest as such, then fair enough
But the amount of people I personally know who will read one thing and base everything on that is ridiculous.

On Monday, I had to convince my friend that Ratzinger was NOT part of the Nazi party. Yes, he was Hitler Youth, but he was conscripted into that. My friend was determined that he was an active member of the actual party, when I pointed out that Ratzinger was only about 12 when WWII broke out, he lost his wind somewhat.

Tell them you'll do them a trade
Everytime you say that, you get to either slap them in the forehead, or punch them in the tits? If they don't say anything like that, they'll stay safe for fod-slaps or tit-punches.
