I got a bike for Christmas in about 1990.
It was a BMX - but get this, right - it had a sound effects machine on it, operated by a little button on the handlebars. It could do lasers, or RADAR, or machine guns, or grenades.

It was fucking brilliant. I could do with one of them on my bike now.

I wanted one.

But my childhood bike ownership went like this.

Tommahawk
Strika (or Striker) - with a pedal back break (meaning I did the best skids)
Grifter
'generic' racer (5 speed)
A bigger racer (10 speed)

Then I was on my own, being a lad with a Saturday job, so I got myself a limited edition Saracen mountain bike which got nicked within 3 weeks of me having it.
