Shopping for a shiny new TV......and external media hard drive. I am overwhelmed but bedazzled by the gadgetry and fear that the cost factor is rising.

Do you have anything telly-sidethat can see your home network, like a PS3? If you do, cheapest thing that'll do your job would be a NAS drive, you can keep it powered on independantly of your home PC and access it through the PS3.

Of courseif you have a PS3, you can just store your stuff on that unless you have reams and reams of
